Oh hey. My name's Colin.
I used to work as a national reporter at Mashable, where I covered hate crime, heroin, and shootings by police from on-the-ground spots across the United States, including Alabama, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Washington and Washington, D.C. One time, my reporting in Baltimore helped Mashable earn an Online News Association award nomination in the "Breaking News" category.
My job at Mashable was mostly to write, but I also coordinated multimedia packages, and brought Mashable's breaking news coverage to several million followers on Twitter, Snapchat, and Periscope.
Before all that, I wrote some things for The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, The Washingtonian, and a few other outlets.
Oh, also, I co-founded Or Something (RIP), where we tried to use all types of storytelling to generate new conversations about the topics of the day. It was fun.
